Strawberry Chia Lemonade

Today’s Smoothie Sunday is not really a smoothie, but a similarly sweet treat. After a long hike in the valley and ridges of Kuliouou, the boyfriend and I came home and made this frosty Strawberry Chia Lemonade. Featuring the last of the season’s strawberries and a mix of local limes and lemons, it was the perfect way to end a blissful Sunday afternoon!

Strawberry Chia Lemonade

Juice from two lemons or limes
8-10 strawberries
Honey, to taste
2 Tablespoons chia seeds
Water, to taste
Handful of ice cubes

  1. Add lemon juice and berries to a blender. Blend until totally smooth. Add honey and chia seeds and blend for 30 seconds more, adding water while blending. Add a few ice cubes and blend until mostly crushed.
  2. Serve in a pretty glass and enjoy your afternoon!
