Our Cookbook Launch is Happening at Green Festival San Francisco!
You guys, I’m beyond excited to finally write this blog post!
This book launch is a long time coming, but it’s finally here and I could not be MORE excited. With the help of my friend, editor, and saucy partner-in-crime, Becky Striepe, we’ve got an awesome book full of delicious sauces, vinaigrettes, marinades, creamy dressings, and sweet drizzles to make your meals a million times more awesome.
The book is finished (sheesh, finally!) and ready to go: we are in crowdfunding mode right now, raising funds to cover printing and shipping (the book in the pic above is my first proof!). The campaign will finish December 2. We’ll be printing and shipping the books right after, getting them out in time for holiday eating and giving. We’ll also be selling the books at the Portland Green Festival December 9-11.
About the Book
Gettin’ Saucy was inspired by years of teaching cooking classes in Honolulu, where I found that most students didn’t really want to learn full new recipes for each night of the week– rather, these busy working mamas, students, and everyone just wanted a few staple recipes to get them through the week nutritiously and deliciously. Each recipe includes notes and a new photo by yours truly.
Inside the book, you’ll find:
- 10 vinaigrette and marinade recipes for zestier salads, sassier roasted veggies, and perfect marinated tofu and tempeh
- 4 creamy dressings to make satisfying salads, noodles, and dips
- 5 basic sauces with healthier twists, like a date-sweetened barbecue sauce and a pesto made with sunflower and sesame
- 4 creamy vegan sauces and gravies for yummy noodles or mashed potatoes
- 4 sweet sauces to dress up your oatmeal, fruit, or ice cream sundaes
- 11 plant-based basics that help create a more complete foundation for a more plant-based kitchen.
About the Indiegogo Campaign
Why crowdfunding? Printing the first run of the book is going to be pretty expensive, and the bulk of the funds raised will go towards printing with Lightening Press. Other fees will be used to pay editing/graphic design in the book. After the campaign the book will be available for sale (forever!) on ImportantMedia.org
Not only am I pre-selling the books, I’m offering some really unique services to accompany the book. Perks include individual nutritional and cooking coaching sessions, or a four-course vegan dinner with your favorite humans in either San Francisco or Honolulu. After teaching and writing about food for over five years, I can help kitchen newbies and experts alike with questions about meal prep, organic shopping, plant-based swaps or other questions. As for the dinner, we’ll work together to plan the perfect dinner party (available for 2 or for 6 humans) and a vegan meal that will exceed all your expectations.
