weekend plans? How about a cooking party?

getting the party off to a great start!

Who doesn’t love dinner parties? Good food, great drinks, lovely conviviality- truly the essence of the good life with slow food. But sometimes cooking for a big group people can be a bit daunting. What about hosting a cooking party for your friends and have everyone participate in the food creation? I thought this little article from Yoga Journal was a pretty great idea. Think of a great menu, invite a group of good people, and gather in the nicest kitchen you can find. As they say in the article, people always congregate in the kitchen anyway, so why not put them to work?

  1. Cooking parties rock! My friends and I used to do this once a month. My favorite is making sushi together. Everyone names their rolls, and we just kind of roll and munch and drink sake all evening. Usually with a Gamera film on mute. You know, for atmosphere.
