Vegan Rustic Apple Tart

This BEAUTIFUL dessert is not my own, but the creation of my coworker S. She’s paired a lightly sweetened, lemon crust with cinnamon dusted apples for a not-too-sweet dessert or snack. This tart will work with a variety of fruits too- but be careful not to use anything too juicy. We’ve shared the ingredients below, but you can find the full recipe here at Down to Earth.

Rustic Apple Tart

Crust:
1½ cups unbleached all-purposed flour
8 Tablespoons cold butter or vegan margarine, chopped
½ cup powdered sugar
2 teaspoons lemon zest
3 Tablespoons ice water

Filling:
4 cups sliced granny smith apples
¾ teaspoon cinnamon
1/3 – ½ cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
