Warming, delicious and healthy: this spiced apple cider recipe is a great holiday beverage!

This sweet and spicy cider is a lovely treat to enjoy during the holiday season. Just like my Homemade Yogi Tea and Homemade Red Chai, this Spiced Apple & Pear Cider recipe is a great alternative to alcohol based drinks at parties (but if you are looking for some booze, nothing says holidays more than Mulled Wine).
This spiced apple cider recipe includes all the wonderful spices of the season and makes your house smell amazingly warm and inviting. Made with a mixture of apple juice and pear juice and an array of whole spices like cinnamon sticks, star anise (cute and flavorful) and cardamom, one of my favorite spices. I also toss in a sliced Granny Smith apple and the peel of one orange to liven it up. Bonus: the boiled apple absorbs the spice and orange flavors and is a wonderful treat itself.
