Get in the Green Smoothie Habit {a Giveaway}

How exciting is the new year, thinking of all the possibilities for change?! Many of us look forward to eating better and feeling better, to making healthier changes to our diet and exercise routines. There are so many paths to choose on your health journey, but one way that’s increasingly popular is adding green smoothies into your diet.

Are you already on the green smoothie bandwagon? If yes, good on you! If not, don’t fear! Green smoothies are a delicious and wholesome way to get more fruits and vegetables into your diet. For those that don’t like to eat their veggies, green smoothies let you blend up spinach, kale, chard and even lettuce under the cover of blueberries or chocolate. Once you have those flavors in there, no one will know there are veggies hiding inside! I was inspired to start making my own green smoothies by reading Becky Streipe’s e-book 40 Days of Green Smoothies. Becky’s book is inspiring in its simplicity: it includes grocery lists, easy to plan menus and re-purposing of ingredients throughout the week to make it easy to add in blended green goodness everyday.

  1. One of my healthy resolutions is to eat appropriate amounts of food. Sometimes it’s not so much what I eat as how much I eat. Overeating has always been one of my challenges. Here’s to a new perspective on food! Happy new year!

  2. I am planning to walk more, reduce my consumption of processed foods (especially flours — even gluten free!), and am incorporating more essential oils into my life.
