Good Grains: Should you go Gluten-Free?

There has been a lot of focus recently on the benefits of a gluten-free diet. Many experts claim that grains are bad for our digestion and bad for our brains, and many people find that they lose weight on a gluten-free diet. And then there are the Paleo folks thinking that grains are terrible food for our bodies. But if you are not truly allergic or sensitive to gluten, is it really that bad for you?

Years ago, whole-grains were purported to be the foundation of a healthy diet, and now many people are turning away from the abundant nutrients, fiber and protein found in wheat and other whole grain products. Choosing bleached, bromated, refined white flour is not the same as choosing whole grain farro, oatmeal or wheat berries.
