If you’re searching for a delicious summer dessert, then look no further. Nice cream is here and it’s perfect for everyone.
Not only is nice cream a great vegan alternative to traditional ice cream, but it’s also low in sodium and gluten-free. Nice cream uses bananas as a base instead of cream, which creates a gelato like consistency when frozen. Once the base is complete, it can easily be mixed with other ingredients to make the sweet treat of your dreams.
Health Benefits Associated of Banana Nice Cream
Bananas are nutrient-rich, and studies have found they can be extremely beneficial for your health. While bananas might be high in sugar content, the sugar is natural, which is much better for your body than the processed alternative.
Additionally, bananas are full of potassium, fiber, vitamin C, and B6, which helps to lower high blood pressure, improve heart health and regularity, and lower the risks of cancer and asthma.
In fact, a study conducted by the Imperial College of London found that children who ate a banana every day had a 34 percent less chance of developing asthma – you should definitely be sharing this delicious dessert with the kids!
How to Prepare Banana Nice Cream
There are a few tips and tricks for making a successful batch of nice cream. First, peel and slice the bananas before placing them in the freezer as this step might be difficult to do once the bananas are frozen. You also want to make sure your bananas are perfectly ripe – unripe bananas won’t get the same rich and creamy consistency and can also cause digestion issues.
You also should check the settings on your freezer so that it isn’t too cold. You don’t want your bananas to turn rock solid or your blender might have trouble breaking down the fruit. If you do run into this issue, try leaving your bananas out on the counter for a few minutes before blending or add a little liquid, such as coconut water or almond milk.
Once you’ve got your bananas smooth and creamy, it’s time to add the other ingredients. Go ahead and get creative! The banana won’t impact the taste too much, so you can make your nice cream any flavor you want without having to worry about it clashing. You can also add some texture to your nice cream by adding toppings (think nuts or vegan sprinkles).
Pretty soon you’ll be eating a sundae that anyone would scream for!

¼ teaspoon almond extract
¼ teaspoon maple extract (optional)
2 Tablespoons vegan sprinkles
- Mix frozen bananas in a food processor or blender until smooth.
- Add agave and extracts and pulse until combined. Add sprinkles and pulse once or twice just to combine.
