We are so excited to have partnered with Envision Festival (Costa Rica) and are happy to announce the first round of lineup offerings for the 2018 festival.
Two highlights that I’m super stoked about: Xavier Rudd, an delightfully progressive Australian musician, and Winona LaDuke, a renowned Native American activist. I’ve never had the opportunity to see LaDuke speak publicly, but her work is powerful, and now, more important than ever.
Here’s a bit more about the Envision lineup: Envision 2018 offers a soulful array of performances from the likes of multi-instrumentalist indie electronic act Bob Moses, the empowering singer-songwriting of Xavier Rudd, South American live Tribal Tech House Band Matanza, the soulful electronic genre-blasting Manic Focus and much more world-class live acts taking over the Sol Stage.
Luna Stage will offer bass-heavy tones from the Queen of Glitch-Hop herself CloZee, experimental master Thriftworks, the sonic bass duo Desert Dwellers, and to no surprise but with great excitement, Random Rab who will be returning for his eighth year with his introspective sunrise set to the Luna Stage in tow. We are are excited to unveil more big names and several of our favorite up-and-coming secrets in the second round.
You can expect the deeper sound waves radiating from the Lapa Stage with Italian techno legend DJ Tennis, globetrotting party-starter Behrouz, Spanish techno giants Audiofly, Israeli maestro of desert-tinged House music Chaim, German live electronic purveyor Monolink and many more scene leading acts.
As a Costa Rican festival, they will also highlight some of Latin America’s most experiential sounds including, Mantanza (Chile), Chancha via Circuito (Argentina), La BOA (Bogotá Orchestra Afrobeat / Colombia), Patterns (CR) and local underground favorite Santos y Zurdo (CR).
The Envision experience extends far beyond the music, offering an awakening journey for those who seek adventure, thirst for knowledge, and strive to be apart of an inspiration-driven community. In accordance with this ethos, the festival offers World-Class Yoga Instruction including classes lead by Gina Caputo, Carson Clay Calhoun, and Robin Martin plus Thought Leading Workshops with astrologer Kaypacha, activist and Dakota Access Pipeline Protest leader Winona LaDuke, and Bioneers co-founder Nina Simons.
Their mission aims to spread innovative ideas and build consciousness through music, thought leading panels and workshops, and mind-easing meditation and yoga to transform their harmonious community into a lasting reality. By immersing in the wondrous beauty of the Costa Rican coastal rainforest, we will provide a deep escape from social conditioning and a chance to collectively re-envision your future. It is with the future of the world in mind that drives them forward into the 2018 edition, calling upon the world’s thinkers and doers to gather and help permeate its message worldwide.
I’ve written a lot about Envision, and how this super sustainable and groovy festival was the perfect first festival experience for this newbie. And even though I was uncomfortable and awkward, I’m so excited to head back to Costa Rica for the next Festival, February 22-25th, 2018.
They are also hosting a content to win a FREE VIP bunglalow. These bungalows are awesome: built from natural materials from the forest, and offering a little refuge from the nonstop party that is Envision. I did tent camping and it was amazing, but having a little home to return to would up the comfort level delightfully. Enter contest here!
